ELIF was Lanthorn’s first social housing fund and was established in 2019. The initial strategy was to acquire individual houses and apartments, refurbish them and lease them to the respective local authorities to assist with the demand for social housing. The fund started investing in early 2020 despite the COVID lockdowns and it has continued to deliver units to the local authorities to present day. Its units are located throughout Ireland, with a principal focus on Dublin, Limerick, and Cork.
